RUG INFORMATION:
Artpiece quality 100+ year old antique Derin Hereke rug in incredible condition and a rare large size!!
This rare antique artpiece quality Derin Hereke rug is unique in so many ways that it is one of the most remarkable carpets we have ever found amongst antique Turkish silk rugs.
First of all, this is a genuine antique Derin Hereke rug with an 10/10 quality, which makes it the finest Hereke Derin rug we have ever been able to get from the era of about 1900. Based on the condition of the silk and its design, we date this piece to about 1900 and the signature is also a hint to its age as the weavers tend to change the signing style throughout the decades.
In addtion to the age and design, the sheer size of this Hereke Derin is another outstanding feature of this piece as most Turkish silk rugs like the Hereke and especially the Derin pieces tend to be much smaller. This is the first time that we have ever been able to aquire an Derin in this size, quality and age and its an absolute eye candy for anyone who is as passionate about Turkish rugs as we are.
