This gorgeous 10/10 quality square Ozipek Hereke rug is an incredible find and something that Persian rug fans would love to see. Not only is this Hereke Ozipek in mint condition, it is one that is made with a heavy Persian Tabriz influence as is evident in the design, which borders on the Gonbad design in Isfahan and Qum rugs.
This is a genuine Turkish Ozipek Hereke rug with a 10/10 quality, which translates into about 625 kpsi and its a great example of what the older fine Turkish silk Hereke rugs are all about. What sets this rare square Ozipek Hereke aside is not only the square shape, but also the unique design which is obviously perfect for rugs with a square or round shape. Square Hereke rugs in this size are extremely rare to find and this Hereke Ozipek dates to around 1960 based on our experience and knowledge of the Ozipek rugs due to the design, colors and workmanship. This Ozipek showcases that close relationship between the Turkish and Persian rug weaving cultures. If you are a fan or collector of rare Persian or Turkish rugs, you will know how remarkable this Ozipek piece is and why I am absolutely thrilled to be able to feature it in our collection.
