Stunning artpiece 15/15 quality with over 1400kpsi. Semi-antique Ozipek Hereke rug in like new condition with a rare Persian rug design!!
This rare ~60 year old 15/15 quality artpiece quality Ozipek Hereke rug is a perfect example of not only what the Ozipek carpets are known for, but it is incredible to find a 60 year old piece in this stunning 15/15 quality. Given that most very high end Turkish silk rugs are typically hang on walls or treated like decor rugs, it is in mint condition and there are no damages.
This is a genuine Turkish Ozipek Hereke rug with a 15/15 quality, which translates into about 1450+ kpsi and its a great example of what the fine Turkish silk rugs are all about. The extremely rare design got its inspiration from the Persian rug weaving culture in Tabriz and it is one of several Ozipek Hereke rugs that combine the Turkish and Persian rug weaving cultures. The weavers that made up the Ozipek weaving association were often times closely related to the weavers in the Tabriz area and would at times weave very fine Hereke rugs with designs that are more closely associated with Persian rugs. Here is a perfect example of one and given how passionate some of our clients are, I would be surprised if it stayed with us for very long.
The Ozipek Hereke rugs like so many other Turkish silk weavers got all but wiped out by the cheaper Chinese imitations and as a result the older genuine Turkish pieces like this one are becoming more and more sought-after and appreciated. If you are a fan of Turkish silk rugs, you will immediately appreciate this piece not only for its unique design and extremely fine quality, but also for its size as most Hereke rugs from the Ozipek workshop tend to be much smaller with this rare 15/15 quality. It is obviously perfectly suited for hanging or displaying as a decor rug and in a league of its own.
