RUG INFORMATION:
Amazing Hereke rug with 14/14 quality ~1200+ kpsi and a very sought-after design!!
This genuine Hereke rug features am incredible 14/14 quality, which is about ~1200+ kpsi, making it an incredible rare and fine artpiece quality Hereke. In addition, this design has been so popular with our clients that I have a difficult time finding similar pieces. Over the last couple of years, I have featured older Hereke pieces with this design in 10/10 and 12/12 qualities and they are all sold. At the time of us being able to secure this Hereke rug, this is the only one with this gorgeous design and at a remarkable price.
The remarkable 14/14 quality of this Hereke was made possible by weavers in the old days making the rugs literally while looking through a magnifying glass, which is an old weaving technique that is all but gone. Keep in mind that 14/14 means that there are 14 knots per centimeter, so each knot is well less than a single millimeter in width. It is simply remarkable that weavers could make such rugs back in the 60's. Unfortunately, this type of rug weaving has become so expensive that most buyers choose the cheaper Chinese imitations and therefore the weavers in Turkey have all but abandoned this rare artform. Nowadays, the costs would be so prohibitive that it is extremely rare to find new Turkish Hereke rugs of this caliber. Also, the condition is like new and it was sealed in a glass frame for all these years, which literally kept it in a brand new condition even though it is an older piece.
IMPORTANT:

You can see the video if you view this rug page on a laptop or desktop.
If you own or are interested in silk Hereke rugs, please watch this video in which I show you real Turkish silk Hereke rugs and the Chinese silk couterparts that are often sold as genuine Turkish rugs.
