This Mashad rug is a rare artpiece and if you a passionate Persian rug fan, this is one of those types of rugs you have got to see in person if you have the chance.
The Mashad rug comes from a private collection and is about 50 years old. The original owner was a true connoisseur of rare handmade rugs and we were absolutely thrilled to be able to purchase it from his family. This Mashad not only features a pure silk foundation, but also has lots of silk added in the design of the pile, which is made of the finest kurkwool. In terms of quality, this rare piece is right up there with the finest Isfahan, Tabriz and even pure silk Qom rugs. The floral design with the flowers, trees and fruits is very detailed and if you look closely at the pictures, you will see how many of the plants and fruits are completely made of silk. Also, the Mashad rug features a violet colored kelim around the entire rug and the condition is like new. It was obviously treated like an artpiece and there are no damages or signs of usage.
