RUG INFORMATION:
Genuine Nache-Band masterpiece Isfahan rug with signature.
This Isfahan rug is a genuine and signed Nache-Band masteriece with about 650 kpsi and we are fortunate to be able to purchase this along with other pieces from a private collector of rare Isfahan rugs. The Nache-Band weaving family was one of the most respected weavers in Isfahan and very sought-after between 1950-1970. As their name points to their original profession, the family was originally involved in rug repair and designing, which in time evolved into making their own rugs. Here is a perfect example of one such piece and it dates back about 60 years. Due to the novelty of being a genuine Nache-Band Isfahan, this very fine piece was treated like a novelty from the start and even though it is an old piece, it is in like new condition. With about 650 kpsi, it is well above the norm for standard silk foundation Isfahan rugs and is also a very low priced Isfahan. Typically, isfahan rugs of this size and quality go for a lot more.
The Isfahan rug here is a a great example of the type of rug that the Nache-Band used to weave and is a 650 kpsi masterpiece quality Isfahan rug with a classic Isfahan design and colors that work very well together. Whereas the Tabriz rugs tend to have shades of pink in many of their fine rugs, Isfahan rugs tend to stay away from them and here is a perfect example. The blues, reds, browns compliment each other with the main beige color. Also, the quality is everything you would expect from a high quality Isfahan rug with a silk foundation and the quality of the Nache-Band Isfahan rugs speak for itself. Details and workmanship are spot on and as is a tradition with the Nache-Band Isfahan, this piece features the signature of the workshop.
