This Isfahan rug is a rare pictorial find and showcases the famous Blus Mosque in Isfahan, which is also known as the Imam Mosque. It is about 50 years old and was purchased by a private collector who had a number of rare Isfahan rugs. Displayed as an artpiece, it in excellent condition and is a great example of what the older pictorial Isfahan rugs looks like. Besides being a silk foundation showpiece, the pictorial design and colors are equally rare and the choice in colors is not something that you typically find in new Persian rugs any more. The quality is everything you would expect from a high quality Isfahan rug with a silk foundation. Details and workmanship are spot on and the size and quality makes it perfect for hanging on a wall or displaying as a decor item in a nicely furnished room or office.
