Silk foundation rare Mashad rug...
This large Mashad rug is a genuine silk foundation showpiece quality piece that has more in common with Tabriz rugs than actual Mashad rugs. The design and colors are that of a fine Tabriz rug and in addition to the foundation being made of silk, the plush wool pile also features lots of silk in the details and highlights. The colors are such that they seem to bring out the silk highlights and this is the type of rug that many of my clients like to display in an elegant part of their home or office. This is actually the first time that I have seen a silk foundation wool Mashad rug of this caliber and it is a very well made piece. The wool is very soft and plush giving it a very warm and cozy feel.
