Rare semi-antique signed Mashad Persian rug from the Saber workshop with signature in excellent condition-- A PERSIAN RUG FAN#39;S DREAM COME TRUE!!
This older signed Mashad rug from the Saber workshop is such a rare find and the condition and size is equally unique.
The Mashad rug comes from a private collection and dates to about 1950, so it is well over 70 years old. The Saber workshop in Mashad is one of the best known workshops from the mid century and this piece is literally like new. It is extremely hard to find Saber Mashad rugs as old as this one in this like-new condition. The thick dense wool pile and the design with the deep dark red are all hallmark trades of the Saber Mashad rugs. Its as though the Mashad rug was laid in a non-traffic area of a home and simply forgotton. Also, the size is very hard to find and it was actually more common for Persian rugs of that era.
