This 900 kpsi Qum rug is one of the rare occasions where you see the rug cultures of Qum and nearby Kashan combined into one rug. The design and colors are classic Kashan while the workmanship and silk are 100% Qum. These type of pure silk Qum rugs tend to be made with a much lower quality and sold as pure silk Kashan rugs, but here we have a rare exception that brings out the best of both rug weaving cultures. If you were to look up city of Kashan, you will notice that it is located in the Isfahan province and near the city of Qum in Iran.
Qum and Kashan have always had a close relationship and in fact many of the lower quality pure silk Qum rugs are commonly made in Kashan and sold as Qum or Kashan. In this piece you can see the obvious quality and the fact that we purchased this piece from the workshop in Qum also assures us that we know the origin. If you are looking for a very fine 900 kpsi Qum Persian rug with all of the hallmarks of the Persian rug weaving culture, then this is a piece for you.
