RUG INFORMATION:
Stunning Hereke K&G rug with stunning 12/12 quality, ~900+ kpsi, and a design perfect for hanging or displaying!!
This is a genuine 12/12 quality ~900+ kpsi Turkish K&G Hereke rug, which puts it in the very high class of silk Turkish Hereke rugs. K&G Hereke rugs are very similar to the Ozipek Hereke rugs and are very sought after pieces by collectors of Turkish Hereke carpets. The 12/12 quality means that you have an incredible 12 knots per centimeter and keep in mind that the genuine Hereke rugs are made with a double knotted Turkish knot, which translates into about 900+ kpsi.
It's remarkable quality and like new condition is due to these types of Hereke rugs being treated like artpieces as it evident by how nice this piece is. Based on our experience and knowledge, it dates back to the mid 70's and is like new and in flawless condition. The almost pictorial design with the birds sitting on the branches and fence is very detailed and well made. Also, the dark background is a great choice and as you can see in the pictures, this piece simply looks stunning when viewed either hanging or from an angle. The older K&G Hereke rugs are very sought after with my clients who appreciate the delicate workmanship and while there are still a few Hereke weavers who currently still make them, the quality of the silk from the old days is far superior to the more contemporary ones.
IMPORTANT:
