RUG INFORMATION:
Very rare genuine high quality Bidjar Bukan rug with silk highlights and a very unique design.
If you are familiar with Bidjar rugs, you will know why they are also called the Steel or Iron Persian rugs and here is a great example of a new high quality Bidjar rug with a Bukan quality and a design that features silk highlights. Made of very fine and dense Kurkwool, this high quality Bidjar rug features a quality known as Bukan with about 300 kpsi, which is very fine for Bidjar rugs. What sets this piece aside from the majority of Bidjar rugs is the fact that there are small amounts of silk highlights added to the unique design, which makes it a very rare find among the Bidjar rugs.
The qualities of genuine Bidjar rugs are classified as Bukan, Sanjan, Tekap and the lower quality pieces are simply called Bidjar. If you viewing this page in full view, check out the video below in which I explain the various qualities and showcase the Bidjar rugs including this very rare Bukan quality.

The sheep in the region are known for their thick and plush wool and when combined with the same knot type as the Tabriz rugs, which is the Turkish knot, you end up with a rug that will last forever and then some...
