RUG INFORMATION:
This 900 kpsi Qum rug is one of the most unique artpiece quality pieces in our current collection and features the greek mythical story of Medusa. It was woven by the Reza Rashtizadeh workshop and is a stunning example of what the very best in pure silk Qum rugs are all about.
Made by the weavers of the Reza Rashtizadeh workshop in Qum, this very detailed silk pieces not only features ~900 kpsi, but also features a design that is is very detailed and painstakingly woven. For those who share our passion for Persian rugs, this piece is very special due to the extreme difficulty in weaving a pure silk Qum rug with a solid black background, which has to be absolutely perfect as every little imperfection would stand out. While the Medusa design with the solid black is simply incredible, it is so difficult to weave solid dark backgrounds that most weavers will not even attempt it. This is why even the best of the best workshops in Qum rarely ever produce rugs with designs like this one and we were so excited to be able to get our hands on one.
The solid black background is not only perfect in bringing out the gold/brown design, but is also gives it a very elegant look and feel. Perfect for a formal or quiet area of a home or office, this Qum rug is clearly designed to be displayed as a fine home decor rug and the very high 900 kpsi quality along with the workmanship puts it in an artpiece quality category.
Like most high end pure silk Qom rugs, this one also features the signature of the workshop and you can see the Reza Rashtizadeh signature in the top right corner.
