Genuine 70 Raj Masterpiece quality with ~600 KPSI...
This Tabriz rug is one of only a few genuine 70 Raj masterpiece Tabriz rugs that we are still able to be able offer as their production has greatly decreased due to the closing of many of the premier workshops in Tabriz. As with all 70 Raj Tabriz rugs, this piece features a large amount of silk highlights along with the highest grade kurkwool and the workmanship is of course at a masterpiece level.
The 70 Raj Tabriz rugs like this piece are on par as the pure silk Qum rugs and fall into the same luxury quality range. They are considered to be among the finest Persian rugs available and even though the pile is made of fine kurkwool (lambwool), there is a large amount of silk added to the details and the foundation is made of silk as well. Being that Tabriz rugs of this caliber are treated by rug enthusiasts as collectable pieces of a fine Persian rug collection, they are often displayed in formal areas of a home or hang on a wall. Like most 70 Raj masterpiece quality Tabriz rugs, this one features a fairly traditional design and the choice of colors, which is also typical as the workshops who create these masterpieces tend to be deeply grounded in tradition and it takes many years for a weaver to gain the experience to weave rugs like this one.
