RUG INFORMATION:
Stunning 10/10 quality ~625kpsi Hereke Silk rug
Hereke rugs like this genuine Turkish semi-antique silk piece are becoming more and more difficult to find in this condition and this is a perfect example of what the older pictorial pieces were all about. Based on what we have learned over the decades, we think that this Hereke piece features a design, colors and workmanship that points to a piece that is about 60 years old. The choice of colors and the details of the animals are classic of pieces from the 1960's and the quality is excellent for a rug that is as old as this one is. As is also typical for genuine Turkish Hereke rugs, the Hereke signature is embedded in the rug and you can see it in the top left corner.
