RUG INFORMATION:
Everything you expect from a high quality Bidjar rug.
If you are familiar with Bidjar rugs, you will know why they are also called the Steel or Iron Persian rugs and here is a great example of what a high quality Bidjar rug is all about. Made of very fine and dense Kurkwool, this high quality Bidjar rug features a high quality known as Tekab with about 350, which is very fine for Bidjar rugs. Bidjar rugs like this one are meant to be placed in high traffic areas or under heavy furniture and many of my clients like to order them for their dining or living rooms. While folklore about Bidjar rugs tell the tales of a triple knot and the weavers soaking the wool in water before making the rugs, the truth is that the Bidjar rugs are made with some of the densest wool from the tribal Kudish regions in the northwestern Iran. The sheep in the region are known for their thick and plush wool and when combined with the same knot type as the Tabriz rugs, which is the Turkish knot, you end up with a rug that will last forever and then some...
This Bidjar rug features a classic Herati design that the Bidjar rugs are known for and the classic rusty colors are also very traditional. Made to look like an aged piece, it is a new Bidjar carpet in excellent condition with a superb level of workmanship. It is a great example of what a fine Bidjar rug with about 350 kpsi is all about.
