Rare Silk Foundation!!
First for us as this wool Qum Persian rug features a silk foundation, which makes the dense wool pile even more softer than normally. While our specialty is in pure silk Qum rugs, we also at times look for high quality wool Qom rugs as they are great for high traffic areas and are very durable, but we have never had one that has a silk foundation. For reasons I have been trying to figure out for many years, the few weavers in Qum who weave these fine wool rugs tend to focus on this size and this geometric tribal like design. This classic design is a timeless treasure that is perfect in bringing out the details of the design and looks and feels like a high quality Persian rug. Excellent for under table and/or furniture, these wool Qum rugs have been very popular with my clients.
