Stunning Gonbad 6-Lah Nain Persian Rug...
This 8ft (2,4m) Nain rug is one of two pieces that we were able to find that is a mix of a octagon and round shape and features a 16 sided Gonbad design...
The Gonbad design in this Nain rug is one that I have featured in several square Nain rugs in the past and both were sold years ago. Since then, I have been showing the pictures of the sold square Nain rugs to rug producers in Nain in the hopes that I will be able to find similar pieces as they are simply stunning pieces. After years of searching, we were able to find a workshop that decided to make 2 pieces for us and to top them off, they decided to weave them not as an octagon, square or round shape, but as 16 sided polygons, which is something I have never seen before in any Persian rugs.
This Gonbad piece features a solid 6-Lah quality and is simply stunning showpiece with about 500kpsi. As is the norm with Nain rugs of this quality, it features silk highlights in the design and the workmanship is of the highest level.
