This Turkmen rug rug is a rare large size and with a beautiful design. The Turkmen rugs come from the south western parts of Turkmenistan that border northern Iran and Afghanistan. While the Turkmens have moved to all of the neighboring countries, their carpet weaving techniques are very distinct and deep part of their history and culture.
The quality is far above the norm for a Turkmen rug and the pile features a uniform tribal design with a great focus on workmanship. It is rare to find pieces like this one in this large size and the quality is such that it is perfectly suited for under furniture or out in the open.
