RUG INFORMATION:
Rare 2 Sided silk Turkmen carpet perfect as a decor rug...
For collectors of handmade carpets. One of the rarest forms of handmade carpets is this 2 sided silk Turkmen rug with a classic Uzbek Bokhara design on one side and a unique Turkmen pattern on the other side. If you are viewing this page on your desktop or in full view, please watch the video below in which I showcase this rare Turkmen silk carpet.
Two sided carpets are extremely rare to begin with and finding one that is made of a silk pile on both sides is ever more unusual. The workmanship that went into weaving this carpet is tremendous and it is the kind of carpet that is best used as an artpiece and a homedecor. Made of a silk pile on both side on a mercerized cotton foundation, this piece is a new rug that was woven only a few years ago. The Bokhara design is a very classic design that I have also discussed in several of my videos, but the geometric Uzbek pattern on the other side is very rare and I have seen it once before in carpets.
