RUG INFORMATION:
Behnami Designed 70 Raj Masterpiece quality with ~625 KPSI...
This Tabriz rug is one of several large genuine 70 Raj masterpiece Tabriz rugs and it featuring the design of the famous Tabriz Behnami designer. Woven by the equally famous Jalali workshop in Tabriz, this Tabriz showcases the close relationship between the designers and weavers. As with all 70 Raj Tabriz rugs, this piece features a large amount of silk highlights in the pile and the workmanship is of course extremely high. With ~625 kpsi, it is of a very high caliber Tabriz rugs of this caliber are treated like the high end pure silk Qom rugs and are in a league of their own. While this piece featuers a lot of silk in addition to the silk foundation, the pile is made of very dense and fine Kurkwool making it perfect for a formal room or a quiet retreat. Below is a video in which I showcase large Tabriz rugs of this quality and pieces like this one represent the best in Persian rug weaving. Also, the Tabriz rug features the signature of the workshop Jalali and pays tribute to the designer Behnami.
