RUG INFORMATION:
Great Hereke rug with 8/8 quality, ~400 kpsi, and a rare tile design making it perfect for hanging on walls!!
This is a genuine Turkish Hereke rug with a 8/8 quality and a design that showcases the Turkish carpet weaving culture. The great feature in this piece is the tile design with the large Mehrab inspired center. Most Turkish silk rugs feature the more traditional designs and it is always a pleasure to be able to find and offer rare Hereke rugs like this one. In all, this is a truly unique and sought-after piece for those who appreciate the fine Turkish rugs and a great example of what the Hereke rugs are famous for. With an outstanding 8/8 quality, meaning that this Hereke features 8 knots per centimeter or about 400 kpsi, it is a great piece suitable for hanging on a wall or displaying as an artpiece. Even though it is over 50 years old, it is in excellent condition as it was displayed as an artpiece by a collector and never walked on. At the top corner is the Hereke signature embedded in the design.
