This rare older genuine 24/24 quality artpiece quality Ozipek Hereke rug is just a rare find that we originally did not believe it to be a genuine piece until we held it in our hands. This is obviously a genuine Turkish Ozipek Hereke rug with a 24/24 quality, which translates into about 3700+ kpsi. For years we had heard rumors and stories about a few weavers of the Ozipek association having a competition on who can weave the finest Hereke and we thought that the 20/20 was about as high as they ever made them until we held this piece.
The Ozipek Hereke rugs like so many other Turkish silk weavers got all but wiped out by the cheaper Chinese imitations and as a result the older genuine Turkish pieces like this one are becoming more and more sought-after and appreciated. If you are a fan of Turkish silk rugs, you will immediately appreciate this amazing extremely fine quality and it is simply one of those rugs that I will most likely only make available to my special clients. It is obviously perfectly suited for displaying as a decor rug and in a league of its own.
