If you are familiar with Bidjar rugs, you will know why they are also called the Steel or Iron Persian rugs and here is a great example of what a solid quality Bidjar rug is all about perfect for hallways and high traffic areas. Made of very fine and dense Kurkwool, this genuine Bidjar rug features a quality known as Sanjan with about 225 kpsi. Bidjar rugs like this one are meant to be placed in high traffic areas or under heavy furniture. The sheep in the mountainous Kurdish region are known for their thick and plush wool and when combined with the same knot type as the Tabriz rugs, which is the Turkish knot, you end up with a rug that will last forever and then some...
This Bidjar rug features a classic Herati design that the Bidjar rugs are known for and the classic rusty colors are also very traditional. The rustic colors and feel give the Bidjar runner a warm and classic feel, which I can personally vouch for as I have several Bidjar rugs in my own home.
