Gorgeous 50 year old pictorial Ozipek Hereke rug in like new condition and a rare tree-of-life design!!
This rare showpiece quality Ozipek Hereke rug is a perfect example of not only what the Ozipek carpets are known for, but it is very hard to find a 50 year old piece in this like new condition. Given that most pictorial silk rugs are typically hang on walls or displayed as decor rugs, it is in mint condition and there are no damages.
This is a genuine Turkish Ozipek Hereke rug with an 10/10 quality, which translates into about 625 kpsi and its a great example of what the fine Turkish silk rugs are all about. The pictorial design features lots of plants and animals, which are also very well made and the details are crisp and colorful. The Ozipek Hereke rugs like so many other Turkish silk weavers got all but wiped out by the cheaper Chinese imitations and as a result the older genuine Turkish pieces like this one are becoming more and more sought-after and appreciated.
