Beautiful pure silk Qom rug with great attention to detail...
If you have read some of my other comments about the small round rugs, you will know that I am not a huge fan of them simply because many fall short of the workmanship that one would expect in these high end Persian rugs. This pure silk round Qom Persian rug is a welcomed exception and it is one of the best made small pure silk round Qum pieces I have offered in years.
Small round Qum rugs are very popular with our clients and typically sell in a very short period of time. Our biggest difficulty is in finding small ones that meet our strict guidelines due to the nature of their production. Since these are handmade pieces, every little inperfection becomes very noticeable and most have a symmetry that is slightly off center. This small round Qum rug is a great example of what the Qum rugs are all about and with about 700 kpsi, it is right at the edge of being a masterpiece. The weaver did an excellent job throughout the rug and the red and gold color combination is a great choice in bringing out the luxury of this piece. As with most of our Qum rugs, a signature of the workshop is added to the rug.
