Rare Taghavi Bidjar rug with silk & 400kpsi...
If you are a fan or collector of fine Bidjar rugs, you will know all there is to know about how the Bidjar rugs are made and so on.
However, chances are you have probably heard but never seen an actual Bidjar rug made by one of the most respected Bidjar weavers and designers, which is the Taghavi family. The Taghavi design and weave their Bidjar rugs for many decades and are one of the highest quality Bidjar weavers who typically use not only the finest kurkwool in their rugs, but also typically add lots of silk as highlights in the pile. Due to the fine wool and high attention to detail, the Taghavi Bidjar rugs tend to have around 350-400 kpsi and are considered to be amongst the most desired of Bidjar rugs.
This Taghavi Bidjar rug features everything that the Taghavi carpets are known for and has lots of silk highlights added to the design as you can see in the pictures and features a stunning quality that makes it one of the finest and rarest Bidjar rugs in our collection. The dark blue almost black background is perfect in bringing out the silk highlights in the design and it is in excellent condition. It is a great example of what a fine Taghavi Bidjar rug is all about and I was thrilled to be able to offer it.
