This about 50 year old artpiece quality square Turkish Hereke-Cinar rug is one of the most unusual Turkish silk rugs that we have ever been able to find and are absolutely in love with its unique design and stunning 16/16 quality.
Both the square shape, unique design and 16/16 quality with 1600+ kpsi are completely not what the Hereke-Cinar carpets are known for and its simply a stunning piece. Even though we are one of the premier specialists in older Turkish Hereke rugs, we have up to now never been able to find this design in the Hereke rugs and the fact that it is a genuine older Hereke-Cinar makes it that much more special.
This is a genuine Turkish Cinar Hereke rug with a 16/16 quality, which translates into about 1600+ kpsi and its a unique example of what the older Turkish silk rugs were all about before they were decimated by the influx of the cheaper Chinese copies. This rare square tile patterned almost pictorial center design features lots of plants and birds and is surrounded by a dark navy blue almost black border that gives it a look and feel as if it is floating on top of it. As you can also see in the outlying border, the center is surrounded by a stunning border and in perfect condition. Everything about this Hereke-Cinar is truly spectacular and it was part of a private collection of stunning Turkish Hereke rugs that we were fortunate to be offered. If you are a fan of the Turkish silk rugs, you will immediately appreciate a rare find like this one and it is obviously perfectly suited for hanging or displaying as a decor rug...
