RUG INFORMATION:
Framed pictorial Korhan Hereke rug in excellent condition
This unique pictorial Hereke rug is a very hard to find Hereke rug from the Korhan workshop with a very fine 14/14 quality ~1200+ kpsi and a great example of how collectors display them in custom made frames.
This older genuine Hereke rug dates is about 50 years old and was made by the weavers of the Korhan workshop in Hereke. The Korhan Hereke workshop was very active well into the late 90's and was one of the few workshops that seemed to have put up a fight against the influx of the Chinese made copies that have all but decimated the Turkish silk carpet industry. This gorgeous pictorial piece is a 14/14 quality (~1200+kpsi) and was owned by a collector who treated it like an artpiece as it has no wear or repairs. The design is often refered to as a Tree of Life pattern and it is superbly made and very detailed. Perfectly suited to be hang on a wall, it is everything that the older Hereke rugs are famous for.
IMPORTANT:

You can see the video if you view this rug page on a laptop or desktop.
If you have a passion for silk Hereke rugs, please watch this video in which I showcase several workshops similar to the Korhan workshop that were highly popular amongst collectors until their demise a few decades ago.
