RUG INFORMATION:
Genuine Semi-Antique Turkish Hereke Ozipek rug in excellent condition with a gorgeous Caucas inspired design.
This pure silk Turkish Hereke Ozipek features a rare design that has become very popular with my clients who share my passion for these genuine older pieces. The condition of this semi-antique Turkish Hereke Ozipek carpet is excellent and is like new even though we estimate that it is about 60 years old. It is a superb piece with a very fine 10/10 quality, meaning that it has 10 knots per centimeter, which comes out to be about 625 kpsi. The Ozipek workshop in Hereke was one of the premier weavers of fine Hereke rugs and they are very sought-after by collectors. This piece here was originally purchased by a collector who displayed it as an artpiece. The dark blue color with the geometric design is also a nice variation from the norm and as is customary with virtually all genuine Ozipek Hereke rugs, this piece also features the signature in the top part of the design. The design is best known in handmade rugs from the Caucus region and shows the close link between the various cultures of that region and how they influenced one another. I have made several videos in my YouTube channel in which I showcase handmade rugs of the Caucus region and this Hereke Ozipek is a perfect example of how you can combine a tribal and nomadic design with the delicate workmanship to produce a rare piece like this one. Perfectly suited for hanging on a wall or displaying as a decor rug, this fine Hereke is a great reminder of what the past Turkish weaving culture is all about. Simply a stunning piece and the kind of Turkish silk rug that collectors look for.
IMPORTANT:
