RUG INFORMATION:
Exceptional Bidjar rug with ~350 kpsi
If you are familiar with Bidjar rugs, you will know why they are also called the Steel or Iron Persian rugs and here is a gorgeous piece with a design that the Bidjar rugs are famous for. Made of very fine and dense Kurkwool, this high quality Bidjar rug features a hard to find quality known as Tekab with about 350 kpsi, which is very fine for Bidjar rugs and is rarely offered by rug dealers due to their high price and scarcity. If you shop around for high quality Bidjar rugs of this caliber, you will know what I mean as they tend to be very expensive.
The sheer quality of these very heavy and dense Bidjar rugs like this one makes them perfect for just about any area of a home, office or under heavy furniture and many of my clients like to purchase these type of Bidjar rugs for their dining or living rooms. While folklore about Bidjar rugs tell the tales of a triple knot and the weavers soaking the wool in water before making the rugs, the truth is that the Bidjar rugs are made with some of the densest wool from the tribal Kurdish regions in the northwestern Iran. The sheep in the region are known for their thick and plush wool and when combined with the incredible strength of the Trukish knots, you end up with a rug that will last forever and then some...
This Bidjar rug features a design that is among the most classic patterns known as Herati and it is somewhat related to the Tabriz Mahi pattern. Made to look like an aged piece, it is a new Bidjar carpet in excellent condition with a superb level of workmanship. It is a great example of what a fine Bidjar rug with about 350 kpsi is all about and while my lower back complains about them everytime I have to lift them, I am thrilled to be able to offer Bidjar pieces like this one as the quality is far superior to most.
IMPORTANT MESSAGE:
