RUG INFORMATION:
Genuine old and rare Isfahan rug with a silk foundation showpiece quality and a unique Gonbad design from the old Durry workshop in Isfahan.
This Isfahan rug is a genuine and signed Durry showpiece and we are fortunate to be able to purchase this piece from a collector of older Isfahan rugs. The Durry family is not as famous as the Serafian or Haghigi weaving workshops, but for about 4 decades until 1990 were well known for the unique designs like in this piece here, which features a truly gorgeous Gonbad design.
The Isfahan rug here is a a great example of the type of rug that made the Durry workshope so popular and it dates to be around 60 years ago. Being that it was displayed as a showpiece only, you can see by the condition of the fringes and edges that is like new and in excellent condition. Other than having it washed, this Isfahan rug is left completely untouched and it is extremely rare to find fine Isfahan rugs that are this old in this like new condition...
