This Kelim rug is called Nimbaft and it is one of several types of Kelim rugs made by the tribal Persian Lor people. The Kelim rugs have always been a part of the Persian rug weaving culture and the tribal Lor people who roam around the central Persian states have been making these types of Kelim rugs along with several other types for centuries. Here you have a classic example of what a fine genuine Persian Kelim rug is all about in a large size that is very hard to find.
Large Kelim rugs are hard to find due to the difficulty in weaving and here is a great example of an authentic piece looks like with the all natural dues in a modern design. The quality is everything you should expect from a genuine tribal Lor Kelim and unlike the lower and often mass produced cheaper Kelim rugs that are typically found online and in stores, this piece is designed to be used and will last many many years.
