RUG INFORMATION:
Genuine Dardashti artpiece quality Isfahan rug with a silk base and signature.
A PERSIAN RUG FAN#39;S DREAM COME TRUE!!
This Isfahan rug is a genuine and signed Dardashti artpiece and if you a passionate Persian rug fan, this is one of those types of rugs you have got to see in person if you have the chance.
The Dardashti Isfahan rugs are famous for the kurkwool being woven as highlights and the silk being the main background material. Normally, the silk is found in small amounts in the design features in Isfahan and most types of high quality rugs, but in the case of the Dardashti Isfahan rugs, the opposite is done.
If for example you look at the video below or the close-up pictures, you can see that the entire gold colored background is woven of pure silk and the floral design that is floating on the silk base is made of kurkwool. Normally its the other way around and the Dardashti workshop is one of a few that became known for this extremely rare type of weaving.
It is the novelty and workmanship of the Dardashti workshop that many rug collectors cherish their rugs and it is often said in the Persian rug circles that the Dardashti would be amongst the most famous Isfahan weavers had it not been for the family being small. Had the Dardashti family had as many off-springs as the Seirafians or had a bigger workshop, there is no doubt that their rugs and reputation would be far bigger than what it is. With about 600 kpsi and truly stunning attention to detail, this piece is simply amazing to look at and the open design without the large medaillion is perfect for an open area as a decor rug or under a glass table.
If you are able to view page in desktop view, please check out the video below in which I feature several of these rare Isfahan rugs like the Dardashti pieces.
