RUG INFORMATION:
Genuine older Turkish Hereke Ozipek rug in excellent condition with 10/10 quality.
This older pure silk Turkish Hereke Ozipek features a unique Tree-of-Life design with the colors and workmanship that the Ozipek Hereke rugs are known for.
The older Turkish Hereke rugs are highly sought-after pieces that are cherished by collectors worldwide and the Ozipek workshop was one of the best known and most respected amongst the Hereke weavers. Here is an older piece that dates back to about 1970 and is a superb piece with a very fine 10/10 quality, meaning that it has 10 knots per centimeter. Perfectly suited for hanging on a wall or displaying as a decor rug, this fine Hereke is a great reminder of what the past Turkish weaving culture is all about. One of the features that the Ozipek weavers would at times add to their designs is to make the right side be slightly different from the left side. Most classic Turkish Hereke rugs feature a mirrored design, meaning that the right and left half are mirrored, but in the case of the designs like in this pictorial Tree-of-Life are often different on both halves. Here you will see that the plants and animals on the right are different than the ones on the left and you can also see different animals and plants. Everytime you look closely at the rug, you will see different design features and it is simply a stunning piece and the kind of Ozipek rug that many of my collectors look for.
