RUG INFORMATION:
Genuine Semi-Antique Turkish Hereke Ozipek rug in excellent condition with 10/10 quality.
This little Turkish Hereke is a perfect example of what the long lost rug weaving culture of the last century was all about and based on our knowledge we estimate it to be from around 1940. The condition of this old Hereke Ozipek is excellent and there are no repairs or restoration done to it. What you see is an untouched rug that has been on display for decades by a collector and was never stepped on. It is a superb piece with a very fine 10/10 quality, meaning that it has 10 knots per centimeter. The Ozipek workshop in Hereke was one of the premier weavers of fine Hereke rugs and they are very sought-after by collectors. Perfectly suited for hanging on a wall or displaying as a decor rug, this fine Hereke is a great reminder of what the past Turkish weaving culture is all about and the kind of rug that many of my clients look for who collect the old Turkish rugs and the Ozipeks in particular.
