RUG INFORMATION:
Genuine older Turkish Hereke Ozipek rug in excellent condition with 10/10 quality.
This small pure silk Turkish Hereke Ozipek features a unique and suttle design feature that the Ozipek Hereke rugs are known for.
The older Turkish Hereke rugs are highly sought-after pieces that are cherished by collectors worldwide and the Ozipek workshop was one of the best known and most respected amongst the Hereke weavers. Here is an older piece that dates back to about 1970 and is a superb piece with a very fine 10/10 quality, meaning that it has 10 knots per centimeter. Perfectly suited for hanging on a wall or displaying as a decor rug, this fine Hereke is a great reminder of what the past Turkish weaving culture is all about. One of the features that the Ozipek weavers would at times add to their designs is to make the right side be slightly different from the left side. Most classic Turkish Hereke rugs feature a mirrored design, meaning that the right and left half are mirrored, but in the case of the Ozipek pieces the designs are often different on both halves. Here you will see that the plants on the right have different colors and leaves than the ones on the left and you can also see different colors in the various animals. Everytime you look closely at the rug, you will see different design features and it is simply a stunning piece and the kind of Ozipek rug that many of my collectors look for.

IMPORTANT:
Info About REAL vs. FAKE Hereke Rugs

Due to the large number of inquiries I receive about genuine and fake Hereke rugs and the misinformation that are being peddled by online and rug store retailers, I have created my own YouTube channel where I offer factual information for you like the video below that is about Hereke Silk Rugs. You can see the video if you view this rug page on a laptop or desktop.

Important Tips about Hereke Carpets

If you own or are interested in silk Hereke rugs, please watch this 17 minute video in which I show you real Turkish silk Hereke rugs and the Chinese silk couterparts that are often sold as genuine Turkish rugs. For over 20 years, I have been getting a lot of inquiries about the Hereke rugs and so many have been scammed by the rug dealers in Turkey that I thought I try to show you the difference using actual rugs.
