RUG INFORMATION:
Beautiful Hereke-Cinar rug with 10/10 quality ~625kpsi and a very well done pictorial hunting design!!
This is a genuine Hereke-Cinar rug with a 10/10 quality, which translates into about 625 kpsi and is a great example of the the popular hunting design entire inventory. The Cinar workshop was like the Ozipek one of several groups of weavers that were part of the Hereke family and were virtually wiped out by the lower quality Chinese imitations.
Cinar Hereke rugs are made in the Istanbul area and finding new genuine pieces is becoming more and more difficult. Also, the quality of the silk in the newer ones is not of the same level as the older pieces, so like virtually all of the Turkish silk rugs that we offer, we search for well preserved older pieces. Condition and quality of this Cinar rug is absolutely beautiful and it is a perfect example of the old workmanship that put the Turkish silk rugs on the bucket lists of so many of my clients. With a beautiful 10/10 quality, it is simple a great showpiece perfect for hanging and even though it is about 50 years old, it is in excellent condition as it was displayed as a decor rug by a collector and never walked on. As is customary with the genuine older Cinar silk rugs, the signature is added in the top part of the kelim.
