RUG INFORMATION:
Artpiece 10/10 quality square Ozipek Hereke rug in like new condition and one of the rarest types we have ever seen!!
This one-of-a-kind 10/10 quality square Ozipek Hereke rug is an incredible find and something that Persian rug fans would love to see. Not only is this Hereke Ozipek in mint condition, it is one that is made with a heavy Persian Tabriz influence as is evident in the design and signature as I will explain in the description and in the video that you can watch below.
This is a genuine Turkish Ozipek Hereke rug with a 10/10 quality, which translates into about 625 kpsi and its a great example of what the fine Turkish silk Hereke rugs are all about. What sets this rare square Ozipek aside is the fact that it was woven with a Tabriz design and the weaver added a Persian signature to the bottom to pay respect to the Persian Tabriz rug culture and inspiration. Square Hereke rugs in this size are extremely rare to find and this Hereke Ozipek dates to around 1990 and is one of the last pieces that were made by the Ozipek workshop before it closed down due to the high costs and influx of cheaper Chinese imitation Hereke rugs as I describe in the video. In addition, this piece features not only a classic Persian Tabriz design, but it is the only piece that actually pays tribute to the Tabriz rugs by not only featuring a classic Tabriz design and colors, but even features a signature that is written in Farsi and states Hereke Ozipek. This is the only time that we have seen this and is proof of the close relationship between the Turkish and Persian rug weaving cultures. Being that the people of the Tabriz region are closely linked to the Turkish people in culture and language, it is such a rare and beautiful find to see the two rug cultures come together and create such an amazing rug. As I mentioned, this is an extremely rare find and if you are a fan or collector of rare Persian or Turkish rugs, you will know how remarkable this piece is and why I am absolutely thrilled to be able to aquire it.
