Stunning 10/10 quality ~625kpsi Hereke Silk rug
Hereke rugs like this genuine Turkish semi-antique piece are nowadays made in China and finding authentic Hereke silk rugs like this one has become very rare as most tend to be very expensive. This Hereke piece features a design, colors and workmanship that points to a piece that is about 60 years old and was owned by a collector who treated it like an artpiece. The choice of colors and the details is classic of pieces from the 1960's. Also, another feature I want to point out is the mirror reflection, which is actually typical in Hereke rugs but rarely noticed. If you were to fold Hereke rugs in the middle along the vertical line, the designs in the genuine Hereke rugs tend to be mirrored and if you look closely at the borders and text along both sides, you will see how they are the same. As is also typical for genuine Turkish Hereke rugs, the Hereke signature is embedded in the rug and you can see it in the top left corner.
