RUG INFORMATION:
Rare Hereke rug with 10/10 quality ~625kpsi - great for hanging!!
This Hereke rug is a novelty for anyone who is a fan of fine Turkish silk rugs as it features a mix of Hereke and Kayseri rugs. Hereke rugs typically feature the traditional dome design in standard small sized vertical rugs, but here is a design that is very similar to the Kayseri pieces. Since most collectors tend to hang the silk hereke rugs on walls, the horizontal pieces tend to be very popular with my clients. In addition to its unique shape, this piece also features a very fine 10/10 quality with ~625kpsi, which combined with the unique design features makes for a truly unique collectable piece. We were able to obtain this Hereke rug at a great price, which allows us to pass the savings onto you. Typically, Hereke carpets like this piece are much more expensive and given everything about it, it is simply a pleasure to be able to offer it.
The workmanship is everything the Hereke rugs are known for and the condition of this semi-antique Hereke is excellent and based on our estimate it is about 60 years old. The subtle colors and certain features in the columns point to it having been made around 1960. It was obvious from its superb condition that this Hereke rug appears to be used as a decor rug only and there are no damaged or worn out areas that required any repairs. Simply a stunning piece at a great price and the kind of Persian rug that collectors look for.
