Showpiece 10/10 quality semi-antique pictorial Ozipek Hereke rug in like new condition, a rare 4-season design and an AMAZING STORY!!
This rare semi-antique showpiece quality Ozipek Hereke rug has a smaller and finer sibling with the exact same design that we purchased a few months before this one. Since the 4-Season with the snowman is something I had never seen before, I featured the smaller piece in my videos and a family contacted me and offered me this piece, which was not only based on the exact same design, but also made by the exact same weavers. Imagine the odds of two rugs bought by families in different countries decades ago and here I am. Two siblings, seperated for decades and re-united once again...
While the smaller piece features an even finer 13/13 quality, this piece has a very fine 10/10 quality (~625kpsi) and is a great example of not only what the Ozipek carpets are known for. Given that most pictorial silk rugs are typically hang on walls, it is in mint condition and there are no damages.
This is a genuine Turkish Ozipek Hereke rug with a 10/10 quality, which translates into about 625 kpsi and its a great example of what the fine Turkish silk rugs are all about. The pictorial design features not only a very unique 4 season design, but it is the first time that we have found one with a snowman, which I describe in the video below. Also the level of details in the designs are absolutely stunning and if you watch the video, you will see me point out the tremendous work that went into weaving this rare piece. The Ozipek Hereke rugs like so many other Turkish silk weavers got all but wiped out by the cheaper Chinese imitations and as a result the older genuine Turkish pieces like this one are becoming more and more sought-after and appreciated. If you are a fan of Turkish silk rugs, you will immediately appreciate a rare find like this one and it is obviously perfectly suited for hanging or displaying as a decor rug..
