RUG INFORMATION:
Semi-Antique Hereke rug in excellent condition
This fine Hereke rug is in excellent condition with a very fine 10/10 quality ~625 kpsi, which is common for Turkish Hereke rugs.
This Hereke piece features a classic design, colors and workmanship that points to a piece that is probably about 70 years old and was obviously owned by a collector who treated it like an artpiece as it has no wear or repairs. These type of Hereke rugs are typically either hang on walls or placed as decor rugs in places where there little to no chance of being walked on, which is why they tend to keep their luster and quality. One of the often unnoticed features in genuine Turkish Hereke rugs is the mirror reflection. If you were to fold this Hereke rug along the center line, the design on the left is a mirror copy of the right. Also, the 10/10 quality, which means that this Hereke features 10 knots per centimeter, is very fine and ensures a very crisp and remarkable level of attention. As is also the norm with Turkish Hereke rugs, this piece features a signature, which you can see in the top left corner.
