RUG INFORMATION:
Semi-Antique Hereke rug with Metal fibers in design
This rare metal Hereke rug is a perfect example of what the older small Hereke rugs with the gold metal look like when they are treated like art pieces.
Design and workmanship are everything the silk Hereke rugs are known for and as is common in some of the more unique Hereke carpets, this piece has areas where the Kelim is left exposed and a golden colored threat is added to the foundation. This is to allow the design to look as if it is floating on the rug and gives the pattern an in-depth look and feel.
The condition of this semi-antique Hereke is excellent and based on our estimate it is about 70 years old. Given that this piece features a 9/9 quality, meaning that is has 9 knots per centimeter (~500+kpsi), it is safe to assume that it was treated like a decor rug and hang on a wall. Simply a stunning piece and the kind of Persian rug that buyers look for as a decor item or as part of a fine art collection. As with most genuine Turkish Hereke rugs, this metal piece is also signed.

IMPORTANT:
Info About REAL vs. FAKE Hereke Rugs

Due to the large number of inquiries I receive about genuine and fake Hereke rugs and the misinformation that are being peddled by online and rug store retailers, I have created my own YouTube channel where I offer factual information for you like the video below that is about Hereke Silk Rugs. You can see the video if you view this rug page on a laptop or desktop.

Learn about Turkish vs. Chinese Hereke Rugs

If you own or are interested in silk Hereke rugs, please watch this video in which I show you real Turkish silk Hereke rugs and the Chinese silk couterparts that are often sold as genuine Turkish rugs. For over 20 years, I have been getting a lot of inquiries about the Hereke rugs and so many have been scammed by the rug dealers in Turkey that I thought I try to show you the difference using actual rugs.

Topic #1: The different qualities in Turkish & Chinese Hereke rugs

Topic #2: Differences in prices and Signatures!! Learn the truth about them and see an actual example of a signature that was added to a Chinese copy to make it look like a Turkish piece
