RUG INFORMATION:
Silk Hereke rug with 10/10 quality - great for hanging!!
This Hereke rug is a great example of what the lost art of genuine Hereke rugs is all about. With the influx of Chinese made Hereke rugs in Turkey, the local rug weaving culture is all but wiped out and find genuine Turkish Hereke rugs is becoming more and more difficult. Here is a small Hereke carpet that is perfect as a decor item or for hanging as a decor wallart. With a fine 10/10 quality, this piece is everything you would expect from a genuine fine silk Hereke rug. The design is very traditional, but the rusty brown and beige combination is actually a hard to find combination in Hereke rugs. It is an excellent piece and as with most genuine Hereke rugs, there is a little signature in the top left corner in the border.
The workmanship is everything the Hereke rugs are known for and the condition of this semi-antique Hereke is excellent and based on our estimate it is about 60 years old. It was obvious from its superb condition that this Hereke rug appears to be used as a decor rug only and there are no damaged or worn out areas that required any repairs. Simply a stunning piece at a great price and the kind of Persian rug that collectors look.
