RUG INFORMATION:
High Quality Gonbad Kashmir Silk rug with a 18/18 quality.
This Kashmir rug is one of many that we have made for us in India and the quality is called 18/18 since there are about 18 knots per inch. The pile is made of silk and the foundation is cotton, which gives it the extra strength and durability. My clients are always taken back by how the colors change in our Kashmir rugs depending on the viewing angle and you can see the contrast in the pictures as well.
The design is called Gonbad and it is one of our most popular designs in Persian rugs. One of features of the Gonbad design is the large medaillion in the center and the symmetric pilars that radiate towards the border of the rug. Colors and design are classic Gonbad style and this piece is a great example of what a large Gonbad rug is all about.
