RUG INFORMATION:
Varanim rug with rare size and design...
This Varanim rug is one of several that I am able to offer thanks to our relationship with one of the premier carpet workshops in Varanim.
Varanim Persian rugs come from the small city of Varanim south of Teheran and the rugs there are considered by some to be the closest thing to the Teheran rugs, which are very rare as there has not been a native rug weaving cultures for many decades. The Varanim carpets kind of fill that void and are typically made with wool on a cotton foundation with traditional Persian rug designs. But as you can see, this Varanim is anything but traditional...
Designed and woven by the workshop of a very close family friend of ours, our friend designed this rug as a result of a demand for Persian rugs in this size with a high quality and durability. In addition, he designed this rug with a rotating circular tile pattern and as you can see in the close-ups, there are lots of silk highlights added in the various circular designs, birds and flowers. The pile is made of a high quality and very plush wool, which gives it a dense and firm feel and luxurious looks. In addition, this almost square size is extremely rare in Persian rugs and if you have been looking a Persian rug in this size, you will know how difficult it is to find such a piece.
