RUG INFORMATION:
Genuine rare Nimbaft Kelim rug...
This Kelim rug is called Nimbaft and it is one of the most unusual types of Kelim rugs that is very hard to find.
Made with a combination of wool around the kelim, you can see in the square boxes how the rug has a 3-D feel to it as the wool only covers about 50% of the rug. This is a rare and very old weaving technique that has become virtually lost and it is truly a rarity to find weavers who still make these type of Nimbaft Kelim rugs.
The beige wool frames each of the square designs and borders, which is like a solid thick border around the intricate fields that have the thin Kelim features. Truly a unique piece and the fact that it is a new piece and not a used one makes it so much more special.
