RUG INFORMATION:
This almost square pictorial Tabriz Persian rug is one of my favorite rugs that I am fortunate to have been able to add to my collection and it is absolutely stunning. The details are so well done and as you can see in the pictures, silk was added to the wool to give it the shine that you see on the body of the horse.
Thanks to a 60 raj quality with a silk foundation and a workmanship that is next to none, the weaver created a rug that is like a painting perfect for hanging on a wall. These type of pictorial Tabriz rugs are typically either hang as is or framed and it is a perfect example of what an artpiece quality Tabriz rug is all about. While I typically do not consider the 60 raj Tabriz rugs to be of a sufficient quality to warrant an artpiece category, this piece is made to such a degree that it is well deserving to be placed alongside the best of the best.
