High Quality Antique Peking Rug...
This genuine antique Chinese Peking rug is one of a few pieces that we recently purchased from a fellow rug wholesaler who retired and specialized in old and antique fine rugs like this antique Chinese rug.
Made of fine wool and a very dense intertwined weaving technique that dates back to the end of the 19th century, this antique Peking rug features the very soft and thick pile that these antique Chinese rugs are famous for. The deep blue color and design in the corners and main field are classic for the Peking rugs from that time era.
As with the genuine handmade Peking rugs from that era, the design in the pile features lots of silk and is as if it is carved into the pile. The condition is like new and even though it is an antique Chinese rug, it is in excellent shape with no repairs or damages. The pile has aged gracefully and evenly. It is simply an excellent example of what an antique Peking Chinese rug is all about.
